Walk the rows, go down into the cave, meet the flock.

Three guided tours, led by the people who do the work. Every tour ends at the bar with a glass of something and a wedge of something else.

Three ways to see the farm

All tours are outdoors for at least part of the time. Wear shoes that can get wet; the cave path is gravel and there are fourteen stairs. Children are welcome on the vineyard walk and the make-day visit; the cave is 16+.

Tour 01

Vineyard walk & tasting

Up through the Pinot Blanc terrace to the Riesling at the top of the hill, with Marit or one of the vineyard crew. Soils, pruning, why we farm without herbicide, how we decide when to pick. Finishes on the terrace with the estate flight.

Tour 02 · Most popular

Creamery & cave tour

Through the make room, then down the fourteen stairs into the cave with Tess, our cheesemaker, to see 1,100 wheels at every age and taste the Tomme at three, six and nine months straight off the shelf. Ends with the paired flight.

Tour 03

Milking & make-day morning

Arrive at 6:30am for the morning milking, then stay to watch (and help stir) a make of Leelanau Tomme in the vat. Breakfast of fresh cheese, bread and the orchard juice on the creamery porch. The one people write to us about afterwards.

Private tours

Any tour can be booked privately for 4–12 people on a Thursday or Friday, $400 flat for the vineyard walk or cave tour, $600 for the make-day. Wine-trade and restaurant groups: see trade visits.

The fine print

  • Full refund up to 48 hours before; after that we'll move you to another date once.
  • Tours run in light rain. In thunderstorms we move the vineyard walk into the cellar and talk about barrels instead.
  • Cave temperature is 52°F all year. Bring a layer in July.
  • No dogs on tours; they are welcome on the terrace afterwards.
